John H. Fleming, Ph.D., is a Lead People Scientist at Culture Amp, supporting customers in the eastern region of North America.
Dr. Fleming uses behavioral science and advanced statistical analysis to describe, explain, and predict employee behavior and its links to business performance. He is highly skilled in advanced qualitative and quantitative analysis, research methods, and survey design. He can interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights necessary to inform critical business decisions.
John honed these skills in his previous roles as SME & Chief Scientist at Gallup and as a Managing Director in the People Advisory Services practice at Ernst & Young LLP (EY). He also co-authors the book Human Sigma: Managing the employee-customer encounter and a Harvard Business Review article titled “Manage your Human Sigma.”
John received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Princeton University and served on the psychology faculty of the University of Minnesota.
John’s main areas of interest are employee experience & engagement, people analytics and insights, advanced statistical methods and modeling, applied behavioral economics, Organizational network analysis (ONA), survey design, performance management, judgment & decision-making, and multinational research and consulting (40+ countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Middle East, and North, Central, and South America).
John is an experienced presenter on the topics of employee experience, employee engagement, people analytics, applied behavioral economics, and public opinion polling.
