Culture Amp raises US$82 million in Series E funding
The employee experience platform
Last January, Culture Amp celebrated a breakthrough when we shifted the employee feedback category by challenging our own status quo. We’ve always believed that creating positive change in organizations requires creating positive change in individuals. For this change to happen harmoniously, we must connect the dots between employee engagement and performance management. By acquiring the award-winning performance management firm, Zugata, we strengthened our category-leading collective intelligence by combining individual and organizational feedback from over 3,000 organizations of all sizes and industries.
If you really knew us, you’d know we’re not stopping there.
We’re here to build a Culture First company, and we’re dedicated to helping other companies achieve this goal too. Earlier this summer, at our second annual global Culture First event, our Chief People Officer, Golbie Kamarei, spoke to our mission of amplifying the impact 100 million people can have on the world of work.
Millions of employees turn to Culture Amp to have their voices heard, hoping that their feedback will result in action. We’re building a product to help millions of people have a place to learn, develop, and create better versions of themselves, their teams, and in turn, their companies.
Series E funding takes us one step closer to our goal
We’re living in a world where more people than ever are starting to understand and embrace the importance of people and culture at work. Our funding raise of US$82 million was led by Sequoia Capital China, a new investor in Culture Amp, with participation from existing investors Sapphire Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Index Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, Hostplus, Skip Capital, and Grok Ventures. New investors Global Founders Capital and TDM Growth Partners also supported the round.
We’re using this funding round to continue our global expansion and develop an innovative product offering that enables companies to build a better world of work. Along with our remote employees, we support our growing workforce at our offices in Melbourne, San Francisco, New York City, and London.
Toward the end of 2018, we welcomed Golbie Kamarei as our first Chief People Officer and Rich Anstett as our Chief Sales Officer. As part of our executive team, they continue to help us scale a Culture First company internally and provide a foundation for our 2,500+ customers. Srinivas Krishnamurti, Co-Founder and CEO of Zugata, now holds the VP of Product, leading a vision to help us continue building the world’s leading People & Culture Platform.
This year, we were happy to welcome over 1,200 HR practitioners and culture change leaders to our second annual global Culture First conference. Culture Amp customers and community members learned from our keynote speakers, like Esther Perel and Josh Bersin, and participated in active-learning sessions on how to build a better world of work. At this event, we were proud to announce the expansion of our Culture First community, with more learning opportunities – online and in-person – coming soon. Additionally, we announced our Diversity and Inclusion survey, which helps organizations measure and improve equity and inclusion in the workplace.
We’re here to amplify the impact 100 million people can have on the world of work
From our first survey launch in 2011, we’ve kept our promise to deliver a platform that powers culture first companies everywhere. Keeping that promise has meant scaling our culture first company while building and shaping the employee feedback category. Culture Amp is now the world’s first complete solution for employee feedback and performance. Join us on this journey as part of the Culture First community, and if you’re not yet a Culture Amp customer, we’d love to show you what we can do for you, your people, and your company.
