Esther Perel

Culture Amp, the world’s leading employee experience platform, welcomes Esther Perel, renowned psychotherapist, New York Times bestselling author and ever emerging voice of relationships in the workplace, as its first external advisor. With Perel's strategic guidance, Culture Amp will enhance its research agenda, shape the direction of its platform, and deliver valuable insights and experiences to its customers.

Relational intelligence, once considered a “soft skill” in the workplace, is now recognized as core to leadership, retention, engagement, profitability and overall business success.

Perel has been actively involved with Culture Amp since 2019, contributing her insights as a keynote speaker at its leading workplace event Culture First Global and as the first guest on its top ranked Culture First Podcast. Building on this collaborative history, the advisory appointment solidifies a joint commitment to building stronger interpersonal connections in the workplace and beyond.

Culture Amp Co-Founder and CEO Didier Elzinga said, "We work hand in hand with thousands of leaders grappling with how to build high performance cultures that deliver impact - and what we find time and time again is that the core issues to be navigated are the relationships we have with each other in the workplace.

"Work is never just about work. It never was. Esther brings such incisive insight and wisdom to these conversations that leaders the world over are turning to her to help them navigate.

"We are delighted to work at an even deeper level with Esther to both bring innovation to our product, and to bring more of her wisdom to leaders around the world driving cultures of high performance", finished Elzinga.

Esther Perel said, “Most people are not living in the same town they grew up in the way their parents did. The same goes for work. If their grandparents lived and died in the same town and held the same job until they retired, today's employees move homes and jobs with unparalleled frequency. In the modern world, many of us have severed ties to the geographies, communities, and institutions that formally gave us a sense of identity and belonging. As a consequence, we now bring unprecedented expectations to work. But that also comes with a major opportunity to make work something special. We used to go to work to ‘make a living.’ Now we go to work to ‘make meaning.’

“I am honored to collaborate with Culture Amp as an advisor. Their mission – to create a better world of work – has never been more critical. And together, my hope is that we will inspire meaningful change and foster healthier relationships within organizations globally,” finished Perel.

In the months ahead, Culture Amp will be offering Perel access to Culture Amp’s team of people scientists and extensive database – comprising more than 1.3 billion data points – to help inform her work. In turn, Perel will provide insights and experiences for Culture Amp’s customers and audiences. Together they will lend gravitas in the next wave of relational intelligence insight.
